The London Bathroom Landscape – Sizes, Styles, and Costs

London’s housing is as diverse as its people, with bathrooms ranging from compact en-suites in modern flats to large, character-filled rooms in Victorian homes. Naturally, the size and complexity of your project will influence your London bathroom refurbishment services cost.

Here’s a realistic 2025 price guide:

• Small Bathroom (Under 3 sqm) – £3,000 to £5,000
Ideal for compact flats, typically including a toilet, basin, basic shower unit, and flooring replacement.

• Medium Bathroom (3–5 sqm) – £5,000 to £8,000
Enough space for a bath or larger shower enclosure, with greater layout flexibility and more design choices.

• Large Bathroom (5 sqm+) – £8,000 to £15,000+
Perfect for luxury features like freestanding baths, double basins, and walk-in showers. Final costs depend on chosen materials and complexity of the work.

What Affects Bathroom Refurbishment Cost London?

While size plays a major role, several other factors determine the final cost of a complete bathroom refurbishment London:

1. Materials

Tiles, flooring, and sanitaryware can vary hugely in price. Porcelain tiles are affordable and durable, while natural stone such as marble or travertine can triple your material costs. Similarly, bespoke vanity units and designer taps increase the budget.

2. Labour

Labour costs in London are higher than in many other parts of the UK. However, skilled professionals like MBT Group guarantee that your bathroom is fitted to the highest standards – avoiding costly mistakes and delays.

3. Plumbing & Electrical Work

Older homes may need updated plumbing or rewiring, which adds to the budget. Relocating key fixtures such as baths, showers, or toilets also increases costs and labour time.

Budget Bathroom Bliss – Cost-Saving Tips

A stylish bathroom doesn’t need to cost a fortune. To keep your bathroom refurbishment cost London under control:

• Opt for cost-effective materials – Luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) mimic the look of wood or stone at a fraction of the price.

• Choose pre-designed units – Off-the-shelf vanity units are affordable while still offering modern design.

• Shop around – Compare both online and local suppliers for tiles, taps, and fittings.

• Upcycle existing elements – Repainting or updating handles on existing units can refresh the space affordably.
